DIGITAL X-RAYS

Our clinic uses digital x-rays, digital radiography has become a much more efficient, cost effective, and an even safer method of producing diagnostic images. While traditional X-rays are considered safe, digital X-rays produce 80% less radiation than traditional. Digital x-rays also provide a much clearer more precise image resulting in better interpretation and diagnosing for our Doctors.

INTRA ORAL CAMERA

Intraoral camera is a small video camera that takes a photo of the outside of the gum or tooth. The intraoral camera resembles an oversized pen. While simultaneously viewing a monitor, the dental team member inserts the camera into a patient’s mouth and gently shifts it about so that images can be taken from a variety of angles. Our dental team finds this to be a very effective visual aid to help educate our patients with respect to their oral health.

MAGNIFICATION LOUPES

Magnification Loupes allow us to bring the state of your dental health into greater focus so that we can see details that would be missed by the naked eye.

What this means for us as dental practitioners is that we can make more accurate assessments. What it means for every patient is that we spend our time carefully performing dental procedures and work with greater accuracy.

This allows us to spend our time performing dental procedures with accuracy and efficiency. Therefore, allowing us to provide you with our best work. By staying focused and efficient, this gives us more time to answer any questions or concerns you may have at your appointment.

CEREC MACHINE

At Wonderland Family Dentistry, we know your time is valuable. Thanks to CEREC, we can provide our patients with inlays, onlays, crowns, bridges and veneers in only one appointment! CEREC stands for Ceramic Reconstruction, and is a sophisticated system of designing and making high quality, metal-free dental restorations in one patient visit. CEREC utilizes 3D photography and CAD/CAM technology to assist a dentist in designing a virtual restoration. This machine allows us to take digital impressions for restorations (which means no more gagging on impression materials!), and make precise restorations that look excellent, fit perfectly, and last a long time – all out of biocompatible, metal-free materials and all in very little time. A typical crown appointment lasts less than 2 hours, and you don’t need to come back to finish the work…it’s all done in one visit!

DIGITAL ORAL SCANNER

Today, intraoral impression scanners are one of the most exciting new technologies in dentistry. They enable the dentist, to take a 3D digital scan of the patient’s teeth and bite, make adjustments, electronically transmit the file to the lab and do fabrication in the clinic such as implants, ceramic restorations, crowns and Invisalign.

DENTAL LASER

Dental diode lasers, sometimes called soft-tissue lasers, are ideal for procedures that involve cutting or contouring oral soft tissues. As a clinical tool, diode lasers offer a wide range of clinical treatment possibilities as they are capable of creating precision cuts while also eliminating bleeding at the site and reducing the healing time for the patient.

Lasers are also effective in treating:

  • Expose partially erupted wisdom teeth
  • Manage gum tissue during impressions for crowns or other procedures
  • Remove or reshape gum and bone tissues during crown lengthening procedures
  • Remove overgrown gum tissues caused by certain medications
  • Perform biopsy procedures
  • Removes inflamed gum tissues and aid in the treatment of gum disease
  • Ulcers and sores on the lips or gums
